Quanto erano grandi? come tenevano il mare?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Le risposte a volte possono sorprendere: le navi erano &#039;cucite&#039; ovvero lo scafo era realizzato legando le varie tavole tra di loro e cucendole insieme nel vero senso della parola ..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Il risultato è uno scafo estremamente elastico, in grado di tenere il mare molto bene (come quelli dei vichinghi di millenni dopo), scafi simili vengono costruiti ancor oggi in alcuni paesi arabi e ci si fanno delle splendide navi..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Scafi simili erano quelli Fenici, Greci e Romani che combatterono a Salamina o nelle guerre puniche..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La tecnica di costruzione, che quindi ha resistito per millenni, è molto complessa e ben pochi dei nostri artigiani saprebbero realizzarla, ma il risultato è eccellente. Anche le famose navi degli Achei, quelle che li portarono a Troia, erano fatte proprio in questo modo, ma erano comunque molto diversa da questa per altre caratteristiche costruttive, olte che più recenti (1200 AC).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Infatti questa nave Egizia è realmente una &#039;invenzione&#039;: gli Egizi, popolo che con il mare ha poco a che vedere, &#039;inventano&#039; una nave da mare tirandola fuori da una costruzione più adatta alle caratteristiche fluviali..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La nave non ha una chiglia ed ha lo scafo piatto, pertanto l&#039;albero DEVE essere diviso in due, altrimenti spaccherebbe tutto..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Il cordone che avvolge lo scafo ha la funzione di &#039;tirarlo&#039; per impedire al tutto di allentarsi quando le onde del mare lo dovessero sollecitare troppo..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;L&#039;albero è controbilanciato da due bei massi che lo tirano in basso e gli assicurano elasticità al vento mentre una serie di corde lo assicura allo scafo distribuendo in modo uniforme gli sforzi per tenerlo fermo..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La prua è legata per rinforzo da quella specie di cappio che vedete nelle foto..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I remi sono molto belli, di sicuro controbilanciati all&#039;estremità a bordo per evitare che tutto il peso dovesse essere retto dai rematori &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Se ci fosse stata un costruzione basata su una chiglia e non su uno scafo piatto tutto questo fantasioso armamentario sarebbe stato inutile..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La linea è filante, la nave doveva essere forse un poco ballerina ma di sicuro molto veloce..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Le prime foto mostrano uno spaccato dell&#039;interno: lo scafo aveva delle ordinate, su cui però si adagiava ma che non erano la base della struttura come nelle navi successive, dove il fasciame è inchiodato su di esse. Lo spazio interno era utilizzato per portare i carichi, le merci, gli animali..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Questa nave non apparirà più nel seguito della storia Egizia, i disegni di cinquecento anni, relativi ad una spedizione a Punt organizzata dalla regina Hatshepsut mostrano navi ben diverse da questa. Noi non sappiamo per quanto tempo questo stranissimo gioello ha solcato i mari, ma lo conosciamo in tutta la sua bellezza, possiamo ammirare sia la fantasia che la competenza di chi lo ha costruito, sappiamo molto più di lui che di altre navi ben più recenti..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ci rendiamo conto che alcune tecniche che utilizziamo oggi hanno dietro millenni di esperienza..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Insomma, un monumento funerario ci ha restituito una parte importante di un mondo e del suo &#039;sapore&#039; e ci ha fatto anche capire che una piccola parte di esso è sopravvissuta, è anche moderna, ed è ancora tra di noi..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Salutoni!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Manlio&lt;br /&gt;</description>
